OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support international agribusiness professionals – from those working directly in the fields to farm technicians and operators across the processing supply chain – in developing a deeper awareness of the use of both qualitative and quantitative information. When properly collected, interpreted, and analyzed, data represent a fundamental tool to guide professional activities and support agricultural producers of all sizes, from small and medium farms to large-scale enterprises.
We firmly believe that building a new relationship between sector professionals and numbers – understood as data, information, and knowledge tools – is a challenge that involves the entire agribusiness ecosystem, regardless of age, role, or field of activity.
For this reason we are committed to promoting a new level of awareness through continuous activities in dissemination, training, editorial production, and field – based initiatives. Our objective is to foster a more mature and effective relationship with data and their analysis, contributing to the development of concrete solutions for a contemporary agriculture capable of combining environmental sustainability, productive efficiency, and innovation.
Today – within the agri-food sector – data require comprehensive management across their entire lifecycle: collection, secure storage, analysis, and, above all, their strategic application in decision-making and daily operations.
FIVE PRINCIPLES FOR A DATA-DRIVEN AGRICULTURE
1. Towards a New Data Culture
We believe that the future of agriculture lies in the emergence of a new data awareness. In a rapidly evolving global scenario – driven by climate challenges, technological progress, and new sustainability paradigms – data must play a central role as a strategic compass for agricultural systems.
2. Data as a Knowledge Asset and Decision Support Tool
Information is not merely a sequence of numbers. When properly interpreted, it evolves into structured knowledge – a resource capable of guiding informed decision-making, optimizing management practices, and strengthening resilience and productivity across the sector.
3. An Inclusive and Interconnected Agricultural Ecosystem
The transition towards a data-aware agricultural sector must involve the entire professional value chain. Farmers, agronomists, technicians, consultants, and managers all benefit from enhanced analytical capabilities and a deeper understanding of information – key elements for future competitiveness.
4. Education, Research, and Knowledge Dissemination
Building a meaningful relationship with data requires continuous commitment to learning and collaboration. Through research initiatives, training programs, editorial activities, and field engagement, we promote the democratization of knowledge and the development of high-level practical skills.
5. From Data Management to Sustainable Innovation
The true value of data lies in their full lifecycle: collection, secure storage, analysis, and transformation into applied intelligence. By strengthening these processes, we promote a modern agricultural model capable of combining environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and long-term economic responsibility.

OUR STORY
This non-profit outreach initiative for industry professionals is developed and carried forward through close collaboration between the ISVAM Research Center (Innovation and Development of Sustainable Mediterranean Agriculture), based in Palermo, and CERM Onlus (Mediterranean Research and Study Center), based in Comiso (Ragusa).
For over 12 years, ISVAM has been engaged in agricultural research and dissemination through scientific and editorial publications, collaborating with international universities and scholars through a well-established global network. Complementing this expertise, CERM has been active for more than 10 years in professional training and advanced education, operating from its facilities in Comiso, equipped for both in-person and online learning.

Vision & Strategic Framework
The 2026–2029 operational program is a multi-year commitment integrating scientific research, strategic outreach, regional engagement, and high-level professional training. This initiative aims to foster a new professional paradigm in agribusiness, centered on the optimization of data collection, analysis, storage, and strategic application within agro-industrial practices. Our roadmap is built upon three core pillars: Innovation, Resilience and Capacity Building.

The current four-year cycle focuses on the Mediterranean Basin, establishing the framework for a subsequent expansion across the African continent.

Developing evidence-based protocols for soil health, precision water management and agro-energy sector.
Global Networking & Scalability
Expanding our academic and institutional network to foster cross-border cooperation.

By 2029, our objective is to establish a robust ecosystem where scientific research translates into measurable economic growth and environmental stewardship. The project will serve as a strategic catalyst for technology providers, cultivating a sophisticated market of professionals equipped to leverage the most advanced and innovative data analytics solutions available globally.
